A GUIDE FOR DJS

What is a press kit or EPK?

A DJ press kit, also called an EPK (Electronic Press Kit), is your digital presentation for promoters, clubs, festivals and media. One link shows who you are, what you play and how to contact you for bookings.

Why a DJ benefits from an EPK

Promoters should not have to search for a set in one message, photos in another and contact details on social media. Send one current link with everything they need to decide and plan an event. A press kit does not guarantee bookings, but it presents your work clearly and professionally.

What a DJ press kit should include

  1. Name, city and musical style. Help promoters quickly see if you fit their event.
  2. A short bio. A few concrete sentences about you, your sound and experience.
  3. A representative DJ set and original tracks. Choose music that matches what you want to offer.
  4. Downloadable promo photos. High-quality, current images promoters have permission to use for publicity.
  5. References and optional video. List real events and collaborations that reflect your experience.
  6. Booking contact and files. Email, phone and, where needed, a technical rider or other documents.

EPK FAQs

What does EPK mean?

EPK stands for Electronic Press Kit. For a DJ, it is a clear presentation of music, biography, photos, references and booking contacts.

What is the difference between a DJ profile and a press kit?

A profile also lets you share updates and connect with the community. A press kit brings together what promoters need: who you are, your sound and how to book you.

Does a new DJ need a press kit?

It is optional, but it helps new DJs introduce themselves clearly. A short bio, a good set, photos and contact details are enough to start.

Do I need my own domain for an EPK?

No. You can share your press kit with a DJcard link. A custom domain is an optional extra address and does not change the press kit itself.
